With the life he's led and the muscles he's gained, Armie Jacobson isn't afraid of anything. Except maybe Merissa Colter's effect on him. It's not just that she's his best friend's little sister. Fact is, she deserves better. Women pursue him for one night of pleasure, and that's all he wants to offer. Until rescuing Merissa from a robbery leads to the most erotic encounter of his life.

Good girl meets bad boy. It's a story that rarely ends well. But Merissa is taking matters into her own hands. No matter how he views himself, the Armie she knows is brave, honorable and completely loyal. And as past demons and present-day danger collide, they're both about to learn what's truly worth fighting for…

This book includes mature subject matter that may not be appropriate for readers under the age of 18.

Fighting Dirty by Lori Foster

The Verdict:  A fan of Armie since the first book in the series, I waited for well over a year to get my hands on Fighting Dirty — and it was worth every second of waiting!

Armie is the ultimate bad boy to love.  A tattooed MMA fighter who’s avoided fame, he’s loyal to a fault, unapologetic about his well-known sexual escapades, and willing to do anything to protect the people he loves.  For Armie, that includes staying as far away from Merissa “Rissy” Colter, his best friend’s sweet little sister who stole his heart long before it was really appropriate for him to love her. But when Rissy’s life is on the line, Armie’s the one who’s there, ready to take a bullet if it means she’ll walk away.

Shaken up by the attempted robbery of the bank she manages, Rissy can’t handle being alone that first night, and that’s where things get interesting.  Rissy is tired of Armie clamming up around her, of his treating her differently than he does everyone else, and she’s ready to change up their dynamic.  But for all her brazenness, she’s not nearly as experienced as Armie is, and that makes crossing the line a little harder.

These two are everything I hoped they would be.  Armie’s reluctance to “take advantage” of Rissy is two parts sweet and one part frustrating.  But Rissy’s got a backbone and won’t let him run away from what is becoming increasingly clear between them.  And to make things even more perfect, Cannon gives them his blessing in his usual, subtle way, which not only shows how much he loves them both but also that he knows how right they are for each other.  That’s not to say it’s smooth sailing, though…

The bank robbery is part of a bigger problem rooted in Rissy’s own past, and Armie’s fighting career is taking off.  It’s not really the best time for either of them to jump on an emotional roller coaster, but they’ve been dancing around each other for years and can’t resist anymore.  As with the previous books in the series, there’s a bit of danger, something of a mystery, and an incredible friendship among the group of fighters and their families, but Rissy and Armie are just as sizzling hot, fun, and romantic as I hoped they would be.

In fact, I think I’m going to have to bookmark the story I’m currently reading and save it for another day — I really just want to go read Fighting Dirty all over again!  Without a doubt, Fighting Dirty by Lori Foster is at once the hottest, funniest, sweetest, most entertaining romance I’ve read in years.
