When determined singleton Shea Summers is persuaded to become the “wife” of the Lord of Edgerton Manor, the last thing she wants to do is play house with a stranger.
Brooding playboy Brando Marshall, is far from happy when Shea turns up at his sprawling estate with production crew in tow. Surely she’s just another woman after his wallet? And if she’s looking for Mr. Right, she’s definitely hitting on the wrong guy. Then again, after catching an unscheduled glimpse of her knickers, perhaps Brando needs to teach this “gold-digger” a lesson!
She’s seizing the moment, he’s breaking the rules, and when bad boys can be so much fun, who can resist getting on the right side of Mr. Wrong...
This book includes mature subject matter that may not be appropriate for readers under the age of 18.
It’s time for Shea to move on, and what better way to show her friends she’s doing exactly that than become the “wife” of the Lord of Edgerton Manor? Okay, so she’s not really marrying the guy, but when she wins the competition to play the wealthy playboy’s wife on a reality TV show, it’s her present, not her past, that everyone will focus on. And in the present, she can’t stand the way too sexy guy she’s stuck in a mansion with.
Brando may have been roped into this crazy TV show, but that doesn’t mean he has to like the gold-digger chosen to stand by his side. If only he could ignore the crazy chemistry between them.
I had a little trouble connecting with Shea, and I’m not entirely sure why. She was easy to like, and seeing everything through her eyes was lots of fun, but I kind of felt like I didn’t get to know her as well as I did Brando. I also started to notice a pattern in their dialogue, and it became a bit distracting. Either the characters had zero volume control or they were really, really excited about everything they said to each other. Or maybe someone just switched the period and exclamation mark keys on the writer’s keyboard?
I have to say I love the story idea. So often we see characters in a lust/hate situation that they were thrown into, but these two voluntarily placed themselves in it, and that added a dimension we don’t normally see to a tried-and-true dynamic.
Shea and Brando’s story is fun, flirty, and filled with explosive chemistry. Brando’s mischievous behavior makes his bad boy persona absolutely irresistible, and the way these two first come face to face? Wonderfully hilarious, but I won’t ruin it for you. The tension between them just builds and builds and builds right alongside Shea’s witty comebacks and plenty of sizzling Brando.
The Right Side of Mr. Wrong is a fun, light romance read with lots of great sexual tension and two characters who couldn’t be more mismatched and perfect for each other.
