Genre(s): Erotic Romance (Adult)
A bombshell bookworm. A chronic Casanova. And a lesson in chemistry too scandalous for school.
When Hanna Bergstrom receives a lecture from her overprotective brother about neglecting her social life and burying herself in grad school, she’s determined to tackle his implied assignment: get out, make friends, start dating. And who better to turn her into the sultry siren every man wants than her brother’s gorgeous best friend, Will Sumner, venture capitalist and unapologetic playboy?
Will takes risks for a living, but he’s skeptical about this challenge of Hanna’s…until the wild night his innocently seductive pupil tempts him into bed- and teaches him a thing or two about being with a woman he can’t forget. Now that Hanna’s discovered the power of her own sex appeal, it’s up to Will to prove he’s the only man she’ll ever need.
This book includes mature subject matter that may not be appropriate for readers under the age of 18.
Of all the books in the series, this one is definitely my favorite.
Hanna is a nerd, plain and simple. Someone who rarely steps outside the lab, has zero social life, but that’s not to say she’s a wallflower. She’s just buried herself in what she loves (science) to the point that she really has no life outside her studies. It’s so bad that her family’s becoming concerned, and they push her to step outside of her shell and add another dimension to her life.
Will is her brother’s best friend and the star of all her teenage fantasies. He’s also living in the same city, and her brother thinks Will just might be the one to introduce Hanna to a world outside of school. Little does he know…
I can’t even explain how much I love Hanna. While she may not have a social life, she’s not the least bit shy. In fact, her tendency to say exactly what she’s thinking with absolutely no shame makes for some truly hilarious scenes. She’s curious about sex, really about everything to do with sex, and the straightforward manner in which she approaches the subject is brilliant. It also pushes Will to see her in an entirely different light.
Will can’t deny that Hanna is attractive, and he doesn’t do anything to hide his appreciation for her looks. But it’s her honesty, wit, and ability to speak on his level (yep, he’s a hot hot hot science geek too!) that reels him in. And when she basically asks him to teach her about sex… That’s all it takes for the spark to flare into something incredible.
Like I said, this is my favorite book in the series. I loved the way Hanna is socially inept, not because of any shortcomings on her part, but simply because she’s never really made the effort. And Will… He’s the very definition of player, but where other books would have rushed him into realizing Hanna’s the only one for him, the authors here drew it out, had him second-guessing himself and not altogether ready to give up his regularly scheduled ladies. I know that probably sounds awful, but what it did was make for a story that wasn’t so perfect that I couldn’t believe it. More than rooting for the two characters, I truly believed and understood both their perspectives. Another incredibly fun, very steamy read from some great authors. I can’t wait to see what they come up with next!
